… bought my Davidson “Impulse” frame back in 1987. It had been a racer, a trainer, and a weekend bike. I gave the frame to a friend who promptly used it for the same purposes for a few years until recently giving it back to me because he no longer had room for it. And I’m so glad he did, it seems that the older she gets the better she looks. Outfitted with her original components, early eighties Campagnolo Super Record, she never fails to draw attention with her still gleaming black paint and lugged framework. She’s now a classic that rides like a Caddy but has the soul of a thoroughbred - a great quality American crafted bike.

I arrived home Thursday, May 15. I left Seattle in a cold drizzle and arrived home in a strong 104℉ dry headwind! It didn’t matter to the bike, but I was worn out. It’s taken a week to feel “normal” again. I have attached a picture that I took while eating in a coffee shop in Fairfax, Ca, just northwest of Sausalito. Too bad you and everyone who helped build this bike couldn’t hear the many complimentary remarks people made about it. Even some people who didn’t know anything about bicycles would sometimes say, “What a nice bike,” or some such comment. You would have enjoyed it.

Thanks for the comfortable ride.  The frame and fork are over 20 years old and still being ridden regularly.
